Learn About The Driving Theory Test

The driving theory test for cars in made up of a questions section and a hazard perception section. You’ll need to pass both of these parts to be successful overall. This computer based theory test need to passed before you are able to take the practical driving test.

Taking The Multiple Choice Theory Questions

This contains 2 parts. Firstly, the main questions which are 45 questions of multiple choice which are based on a broad range of car driving related subjects. The second part is a motoring related case study or scenario. 5 of the questions will be based on this. To pass this part overall you’ll need to score a minimum of 43 out of 50 questions.

Taking The Hazard Perception Test

The hazard perception are a set of short videos and each video there are developing road hazards which an alert driver should identify. Once you have seen a hazardous situation beginning to develop you can respond be clicking the mouse. However, take care not to click to much or you’ll score zero points for the particular video shown. You can show between zero and 5 points maximum for hazard depending on how early you respond.

In total there are 14 videos and one of these contains 2 hazards which make 15 hazards for the complete series. To pass you will need to score 44 points minimum out of a possible 75 points available.
